How do I use your site?

My site is designed to provide curricula ideas in a variety of subject areas. If you’re looking for ideas for science, check that page! From there, you can research some of the programs I’ve listed to see if they’re a good fit for you and your family.

Who should use your consulting services?

My consulting services are for everyone though I typically work with families who have no clue where to begin and who feel overwhelmed by the plethora of decisions to be made. I also work with seasoned homeschoolers who are “in a rut” or those who need a curriculum refresh.

What exactly do you do when you consult for a family?

Great question! Each family is unique so it very much depends on what the family’s needs are. You tell me where to start and that’s where we begin. Often I have families who are brand new to homeschooling, so we typically cover how to homeschool legally in their state, look at curricula options, administer placements tests, make a plan for routines/schedules and we may even cover some instructional strategies. Sometimes I get families who just need a curriculum refresh, so we focus solely on finding a good fit for them. Each consulting session is completely tailored to the family’s needs and the family drives the conversation.

What if we don’t live in the same state? Can you still help me?

Absolutely. Though the homeschool laws vary from state to state, everything else concerning homeschooling is the same no matter where you live. :) I always recommend families visit HSLDA to learn about their state’s requirements and sign up to become a member.
